Mamelodi Sundowns Injury Update

Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has provided an update on the players who are likely to miss the upcoming match against Kaizer Chiefs.

Unfortunately, the likes of Peter Shalulile, Abubeker Nassir, Rushine de Reuck, Thapelo Morena, and Thapelo Maseko have been ruled out and are unavailable for selection.

This is definitely a blow for the team, as these players have been instrumental in their previous matches.

However, there are also concerns about other players.

During a recent training session, Sipho Mbule experienced pain and swelling in his knee, which is a cause for concern.

Grant Kekana is also being closely observed due to discomfort he experienced after the match against Polokwane City.

Despite these setbacks, coach Mokwena remains optimistic, stating that the team is in a better position in terms of injuries compared to before their previous game.

Despite all the injury concerns, Masandawana are set to be without Gaston Sirino again this season.

Gaston Sirino’s Future

Another topic of discussion surrounding Sundowns is the future of midfielder Sirino.

Mokwena shed some light on the situation, emphasizing that his personal opinion will not matter as the club is handling the matter.

He explained that when it comes to speaking about club matters, he has a responsibility to assist and protect the club and its players.

Therefore, it becomes challenging to balance giving his personal opinion while also fulfilling his duty to the team.

Mokwena made it clear that the responsibility of providing information about players, including Sirino, lies solely with the club.

He assured the media that once there is further communication from the club, they will be informed accordingly.

This suggests that the situation is being managed internally, and any updates will come directly from the club.

Sundowns takes on Amakhosi at FNB Stadium this upcoming Saturday, and the MTN8 semi-final 1st leg clash will be broadcast live on Supersport PSL, Supersport Variety 4, and Sabc 1.

Meanwhile, Sirino is linked with a move to Al Wahda to rejoin his former coach Pitso Mosimane in UAE.
