Kaizer Chiefs Football Club missed a chance to sign Orlando Pirates Football Club middlefielder ahead of next season.
Towards the end of the 2022/2023 season, most of Orlando Pirates fringe players were linked with an exit from the club.

One of the players that was facing the axe at the club was former now-defunct Bidvest Wits star Ben Motshwari.
Motshwari was linked with a move away from Mayfair based giants.
With his contract running out, he was one of the first players expected to leave once the season was complete.

With both Kaizer Chiefs and Supersport United showing interest in the player and set to battle for the player, the 32-year-old decided against joining either team.
The South African international was certain to leave the Buccaneers for either Chiefs or Supersport on a free transfer.
But at the last minute, Pirates offered him an enticing one-year deal.
He accepted the deal and decided to stay and fight for his place in the team despite being overlooked for the most part of the 2022/2023 season.

He signed a one-year deal extension with Pirates, which expires at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Motshwari is currently with his Pirates teammates in Spain, enjoying the 2023/2024 pre-season ahead of next season.

With players like Tebogo Tlolane, Tshegofatso Mabasa, and Goodman Mosele facing uncertain times at the club.
