Kaizer Chiefs under-17 side in the Gauteng Development League(GDL) beat Jomo Cosmos 8-0 yesterday at Naturena.
Chiefs went into their GDL fixtures against Cosmos at the back of a positive outing against Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.
Amakhosi’s u-17 side played the second last match of the day and thrashed the helpess Cosmos u-17 side 8-0.
The victory moves Chiefs to third on the GDL under-17 log table with 25 points after 13 games three points of Sundowns in first.
Chiefs also dominated the other three matches, as the under-13s, 15s, and 19s also convincingly won their respective matches.
The under-13 side extended their unbeaten run to three games after a comprehensive 7-0 victory.
Extending their lead at the top of the table to one point over Sundowns in second, while Cosmos remain seventh.
However, the under-15 match was a close encounter that Chiefs edged 2-1 to move 3 points clear of Supersport United in second.
Chiefs’ dominance on the day continued, as the under-19 side also won their match.
They edged Cosmos 1-0 to complete a clean sweep of victories for Chiefs on the day.
The victory moves them to third with 28 points after 13 games, four behind Sundowns in first.
Amakhosi will look to continue their form until the end of the season.
Because they are in the running to win the title in all four divisions.
