Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are battling for Al Jazira star middlefielder Thulani Serero.

According to Rushsporton on Twitter, Kaizer Chiefs and their arch-rivals Mamelodi Sundowns are in a battle for Al Jazira star middlefielder Thulani Serero’s signature.

It is said that Chiefs’ Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr visited Serero’s home in Mapetla, Soweto, alongside Serero’s ex-agent, Mike Ntombela.

Meanwhile, Sundowns’ chairman Thlopane Motsepe is in contact with Serero’s agency Bleu Sports International.

The club announced last week that Serero is leaving the UAE Pro League side later this month when his contract ends.

Opening a possible return to South African for the South African international.

However, Serero’s salary demands may be a problem for the two sides.

Because he will certainly look to earn well over a million rand monthly should he decide to return to the country.

But the two sides are certainly in the race to sign the former Ajax Cape Town and Ajax Amsterdam star on free transfer.

But the Brazilians leading the race for the Argentinean  and are rumoured to have agreed to sign the player.
