Bernard Parker resumes training after suffering a broken leg in a career-threatening tackle during a Carling Knockout round of 16 clash earlier this month.

The incident occurred when Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu made a challenge that left Parker injured and sparked controversy.

Parker suffered a broken leg due to the tackle. Zungu received a red card for the challenge.

Many South African football fans criticised Zungu for not showing remorse after the incident.

Apology and Rehabilitation

Zungu later apologised to Parker for the tackle.

Rhulani Mokwena, head coach of Sundowns, defended Zungu and shared a light into Zungu’s apology.

Despite the controversy, Parker is back in training less than two weeks after the injury.

He shared a video on his Instagram account, working out with a physiotherapist as part of his rehabilitation process.

Future Prospects

Parker is currently in the third phase of his rehabilitation.

His determination to return to playing demonstrates his resilience and commitment to the sport.
