AmaZulu striker Bongi Ntuli’s health took a sudden turn for the worse shortly after his wedding.

The alarming incident began on September 25 during a match against Polokwane City in Polokwane, where Ntuli complained of chest pains, forcing him to sit out the game.

Rapid Transfer to Netcare and Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital

As Ntuli’s condition continued to deteriorate, the decision was made to rush him to a Netcare facility in Durban.

Concern mounted as he failed to respond to medical treatment, ultimately leading to his immediate transfer to the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital, also in Durban.

Private to Government Hospital Transition Raises Concern

The transition from a private to a government hospital prompted heightened anxiety among those close to Ntuli.

Despite this shift, the dedication and efforts of the hospital staff at both facilities were praised for their role in saving Ntuli’s life.

His wife, Sne, who is also the club CEO, expressed deep concern during this trying time.

Bongi Ntuli’s Recent Wedding and Ongoing Health Struggles

Just a month before his illness, Ntuli tied the knot with Sne Zungu, the daughter of AmaZulu’s President, Sandile Zungu.

Unfortunately, Ntuli’s health issues persisted, and he remained unwell even when AmaZulu lost a match to Moroka Swallows on September 29 in the DStv Premiership.

Observers noted his efforts to appear strong while dealing with these ongoing health concerns.

Support from Family and Teammates

Ntuli displayed immense strength but also appeared visibly weakened during this challenging period.

He had previously traveled to Cape Town with his wife and other family members to support his brother-in-law at his traditional wedding, but his health took a turn for the worse upon their return.

This prompted his hospitalization as he began vomiting blood, which was a distressing development.
