In the latest round of the Gauteng Development League(GDL), Chiefs welcomed Randburg FC at the club’s headquarters in Naturena.

The day started with the under-14s, which the hosts managed to seal a narrow 1-0 victory to start the day on high note.

They were quickly followed by under-15 action, which saw the young Chiefs’ side run rampant on their visitors with a heavy 5-1 victory.

Chiefs continued their dominance on Randburg in the under-17 division, as they sealed a third victory of the day with a narrow 1-0 victory.

However, despite their wins in the under-14, 15, and 17 divisions, Chiefs came undone in the under-19 division.

Randburg managed to emphatically win the last match of the day 6-1 to send shockwaves along the Gauteng Development League faithful.

Chiefs’ under-19 side will look to return to winning ways this next weekend, while the other three divisions will look to continue with their winning ways, as the knockout stages of the league are getting closer.

Meanwhile, SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns are also among the top sides expected to rival Chiefs this season.
