Amakhosi is believed to be set to give Mamelodi Sundowns target a first-team contract after impressive outings with the club’s development teams.

The goalkeeping department of Kaizer Chiefs has been on the spotlight for the last four seasons, as the club has struggled to produce and sign goalkeepers to replace the legendary shot-stopper Itumeleng Khune who has been the club’s number one for well over a decade.
The struggles in between the posts have seen the club give no less than four goalkeepers a chance to take over as the number one goalkeeper in the last three seasons.
Despite the attempts, the club has failed to deliver a goalkeeper in the calibre of Khune to take the reigns, which reportedly see the club look to their development structures to produce one.

According to Soccer Laduma, the club is set to offer Dstv Diski Challenge(reserve team) goalkeeper Takalani Mazhamba, a three-year deal that will run from the start of next season until June 2028.
“They have been looking at different young goalkeepers(at the club), but Mazhamba has stood out in the recent times both in training with the senior team and as well as in games for the DDC team where he has kept six clean sheets,” the publication stated.
“The club is happy, and that’s why they are offering him a three-year senior team contract.
“The technical team believes if given more game time in friendly games in the pre-season, then he could compete at a higher level as well.”
Mazhamba’s imminent first-team contract struck a huge blow for their arch-rivals, Sundowns, that see the 18-year-old as the perfect replacement for the likes of Ronwen Williams and Denis Onyango.
