Al Wahda is reported to have dismissed their head coach Pitso Mosimane less than five months into his three-year contract.

He joined the club in June 2023 from Al Ahli, was unable to lead them to the top of the UAE Pro League table, where they currently lie fifth, five points behind leaders Al Wasl.

The Kick Off sources said that Mosimane’s decision to step down was made before their recent win over Ajman.

Buitenweg To Replace Mosimane

The club has appointed Arno Buitenweg as the interim head coach until a permanent replacement is found.

Buitenweg was Mosimane’s assistant coach at Al Wahda and also took over when he was ill.

Other Clubs Interested 

Mosimane is not short of suitors, as Zamalek and Kaizer Chiefs are among the clubs that are reportedly interested in hiring him.

He has won several trophies in his career, including the CAF Champions League with Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly.
