What has led Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa to try and terminate his contract at the club has been revealed.

The Brazilian has been absent from the club since the beginning of this season, as he has expressed his desires to land a move away from the club after a successful 2024-2025 season.
However, despite Qatar SC multiple bids for the 26-year-old, Ribiero was unable to earn a move away from Chloorkop despite Sundowns, and Qatar SC reportedly agreeing on a fee of around R53.2 million.
This came after the Brazilians kept on increasing the price tag of the player each time the two parties were close to reaching an agreement which led to the Qatari based club pulling out of the talks as reported by Jean-Louis Dupont per BCC.
Dupont will represent Ribeiro at the FIFA Football Tribunal after the Sundowns star wrote to his club to try and terminate his contract, as he feels the club deliberately sabotaged the talks so that he could stay.
Meanwhile, Ribiero revealed that he has received interest from various clubs around the world, and as soon as his wish to terminate his contract is granted, he will decide on where to play next.
