Kaizer Chiefs’ second assistant coach Cedric Kaze backs the club’s young central defender Aden McCarthy to go far in his career after a perfect start to professional football.
The young McCarthy received his second Man of the Match award of the season after a solid performance during a 1-0 victory over Polokwane City at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening.
During the post-match interview with media outlets, Kaze was asked for his thoughts about the 21-year-old defender.
While joking about the Chiefs development graduate’s Man of the Match award, Kaze shared how McCarthy has good shoulders above his head and how his head is level, as well as his willingness to listen which are recipes that will take him far.
“I would say that the one who is handing the Man of the Match is making our life very difficult,” Kaze told the media.
“Because he is going to think he is entitled to get the Man of the Match every match now…
“But it’s good for him. He is a very, very nice kid. He is very professional in the way he conducts himself, inside the field and outside.
“Especially another thing I can say about him, he is a player that listens a lot.
“I am sure, without injuries, he will go far. He is a player with quality.”
McCarthy will look to win his third consecutive man of the match award and his side a third match in row, when Chiefs takes on Richards Bay at home on Tuesday, the 19th of August.
