The reason behind Thapelo Maseko’s frustrations at Mamelodi Sundowns are revealed after his fiery social media outburst.
Maseko’s outburst on Sunday took the South African football fraternity by a surprise and storm, as many wondered what led the player to put such a statement out in public.
On Monday evening on Soccerzone, SABC Sport journalist Mazola Molefe revealed the reason behind Maseko’s outburst and frustration was due to the club blocking his ways out of the club.
Molefe stated that the club has rejected all types of offers from various clubs across the globe, like Cyprus top division side, Aris Limassol, which has left the South African international frustrated.
Meanwhile, former Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana also had his say.
He suggested that the two parties should find a way to end their relationship, as the player is no longer interested in playing for the club.
“When you see a player showing his frustrations on the socials, that tells you he doesn’t want to be on that camp [anymore],” Kekana stated on Soccerzone.
“It will be wise if the two parties sit and discuss and maybe come up with an agreement to say ‘we shake hands, you your go way and I will go my way’.
“Because if you see a player in that state of mind, I don’t think he gonna play for you in the next season.”
