Major double twist in the pursuit of Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Thembinkosi Lorch by Wydad Athletic Club.

Lorch joined Wydad AC back in January this year on a six-month loan deal, which was extended for a few months so that he can play in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The 32 year old’s loan stint was a success, as he was easily the club’s best player during the seven months he was at the club, which forced the club’s hand to try and sign him on permanent basis.
However, the Casablanca-based club’s attempts to sign the former Orlando Pirates winger have had more twists than promises of the move happening.
According to one of the leading journalists in African football, Micky Jnr, Lorch is not interested in returning to Morocco, as he was not happy of how we was treated at the club during his loan spell.
In turn, the player is not open to a move to the club, and the situation has never been about the two clubs not agreeing on a fee.
However, on the other hand, SuperSport analysts and former Orlando Pirates player Karabo Phasha state the opposite to what Micky Jnr is stating.
According to Phasha, Lorch is open to the move, but the two clubs not agreeing on a fee is what is holding the player from not joining the club.
He further states that personal terms with the player are not a problem, but the issue is between the two clubs.
Meanwhile, Wydad continues to push to sign the South African international, as he is one of their prime targets this window.
