Mamelodi Sundowns star attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa is back in training ahead of the new season despite reports linking him with Pyramids FC.

Ribeiro missed the club’s first two days of pre-season sparking rumours about his future at the club after a brilliant 2024-2025 season with the club.
Having recently beat Inter Miami superstar Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich attacker Jamal Musiala to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup goal of the season award, the Brazilian has been heavily linked with a move away from Chloorkop.
One of clubs he is linked with is Egyptian side, Pyramids FC, as multiple reports in Egypt reports that the club is in talks with Sundowns to replace Ibrahim Adel who recently joined UAE’s Al Jazira with Ribiero.
However, the 2024-2025 PSL Footballer of the Season nominee’s return to training is a good sign to Sundowns faithful who wouldn’t want to lose their star player, especially to an African rival.
Meanwhile, Sundowns is poised to make their first signing of the window, as the duo of Aphelelo Teto from Livingston FC in Scotland and Khulumani Ndamane are on the verge of joining the club.
