New MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena is prohibited from signing one of his favourite players, Thembinkosi Lorch, to his new club.

Mokwena is very fond of the player having coached him at his three previous clubs, Orlando Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, and most recently, Wydad Athletic Club.
However, despite Mokwena’s fondness of the South African international, the tactician won’t be able to sign him at his new club even if there was an opportunity to.
The Algerian leagues do not allow clubs to sign players that are over the age of 30, especially the ones from foreign nations.
Having been born on the 22nd of June 1993, the Sundowns star is currently 31 years old, and he is prohibited from joining Mokoena in Algeria.
Meanwhile, Lorch is expected to be among the Sundowns players that will report for pre-season this upcoming week after his move to his former side, Wydad AC collapsed.
However, it is unclear whether he is in head coach Miguel Cardoso’s plans for the upcoming season, or he will be among the next crop of players that will leave the club in the next coming days.
