After parting ways with the Brazilians at the end of the 2023-2024 season, Neo Mokoena joined the Buccaneers, where he was part of the reserve side.
After impressing in the reserve league this past season where he was among the top scorers in the league, Pirates have handed the South African junior international a long-term contract with the first team.
The youngster has signed a three-year deal with an option for a further year and is expected to be part of the club’s first team next season.
The departure of winger Mohau Nkota, which is likely to be followed by Relebohile Mofokeng’s departure, Mokoena is expected to be among the players the club will rely on in wide attacking areas.
New signings, Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi, and Sinoxolo Kwayiba, are also expected to challenge for the starting places in wide areas.
