Mamelodi Sundowns and the club’s right fullback Khuliso Mudau are in a contract stand-off, as the club triggers an extension option in the player’s contract.
After the club handed Ronwen Williams, Teboho Mokoena, and Grant Kekana long-term extensions last season, Mudau was expected to be among the next crop of players to receive long-term extension as well.
However, the talks for the extension have collapsed multiple times since last season, as the two parties are yet to find each other.
Speaking to one of the leading publications in South Africa Soccer Laduma, Mudau’s agent Steve Kapeluschnick revealed that the two parties have been in talks for a while, but there is no agreement on the new deal yet.
“We have been negotiating for some time now, but we haven’t found each other yet on a new deal,” Kapeluschnick tells Soccer Laduma.
“There is no agreement on a new contract yet.”
Despite the two parties struggling to find each other, the Brazilians have triggered a one-year extension in the 30-year-old’s contract to give themselves time to continue negotiating a new deal.
Meanwhile, reports in Tunisia suggest that Tunisian giants, Esperance Sportive de Tunis, are in advanced negotiations to try and sign the South African international.
But at the moment, the Limpopo-born player is set to stay at Chloorkop for another season with expectations of the club meeting his requirements for a new contract.
