Orlando Pirates is backed to sign Polokwane City attacker Oswin Appollis and Stellenbosch FC defender Fawaaz Basadien ahead of next season.

With the 2024-2025 season left with less than three months from coming to an end, the Buccaneers are said to have started their preparations for next season.

The preparations see the club linked with some of the top players in the country, including Stellies defender, Basadien, and Polokwane City winger Appollis.
With the two Bafana Bafana internationals expected to leave their respective clubs at the end of the current campaign, former Pirates goalkeeper and current Kenyan National team goalkeeper coach, Moneeb Josephs backs his former side to sign the duo.
Speaking on Soccer Beat, the ex-Bafana international revealed that the duo would add quality to the club’s squad if the club is looking to continue competing in top African tournaments.

“If you look at Appollis and Basadien, I think they can be quality signings for Orlando Pirates, which is competing on the African continent,” Josephs stated on the podcast.
“If you are going to compete at that level, you need depth, a player like Basadien who is been consistent throughout this season.
“So I think he will be a great signing and add something to the team. He has qualities, can take set pieces, and has the engine to go up and down the flank.
“When you look at a player like Appollis, it will be a top signing if Relebohile Mofokeng gets a move to Europe because he has to move to bigger and better things.
“So with Appollis, if we sign him, he looks very active as a 10 and as a false 9.
“He is effective on the right and left side, but we can use him in the 10 position where Kabelo Dlamini and Patrick Maswanganyi play.
“The signing will add a little more competition in that position.”
Meanwhile, the Sea Robbers are expected to face challenge from their arch-rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, for the duo.
The Naturena-based club is also said to be looking at bringing the South African international to the club at the end of the current season.
