Mamelodi Sundowns veteran middlefielder and captain Themba Zwane is likely to partways with the club at the end of the season.

Zwane has recently been given green light to return to action after nearly six months on the sidelines due to an ACL injury he suffered back in October last year during a 2025 AFCON qualifier against Uganda.

However, his return is met with uncertainty regarding his future at the club, as he is in his final three months of his contract at the club, but the club has paused his supposed two-year deal offer.
According to FarPost, the club has paused the deal due to wanting the veteran attacker to prove his fitness and his importance to the squad due to his ability to hit his top performance and form.
“The club wants to see him back on the pitch and performing at his best before making any decisions,” the publication stated.
“The want to ensure that he is fully recovered and can still contribute significantly.”

The club is also in contractual disagreements with Mosa Lebusa after his proposed two-year deal was also reportedly paused, and Khuliso Mudau who is yet to find a common ground with the club when it comes to a new contract offer, but club holds an option to extend.
