Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star attacker joins a Motsepe Foundation Championship club, having parted ways with a Betway Premiership side earlier this season.

Having earlier this season parted ways with Betway Premiership new boys, Magesi FC, Kgaogelo Sekgota, who is formerly with Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC, is close to joining second division side Upington City.
The club’s head coach, Brandon Truter, confirmed that Upington is on the verge of completing the signing of the 27-year-old after weeks of training with the club.

Speaking to KickOff Magezine, Trutter shared how the club is looking to have Sekgota for this season and beyond.
“We are in the process of signing him,” Truter tells KickOff.
“It was a setback for him to be released at his previous clubs, but we have him with us here, and it is progressing well.
“If we get him it right with him, he will serve a purpose not only this season but even into the next.”
Upington will look to the South African international to help them survive relegation, as they currently find themselves in the middle of the relegation battle with seven clubs.
They are currently in 12th position with 26 points from 22 games, four points ahead of Cape Town Spurs FC in 15th position.
