With the season 2024-2025 season heading for an end, Pirates coaching staff and hierarchy are planning for next season.

Their preparations for next season are expected to see more than five first team players leave the club.

Here Are Six Players That Are Expected To Leave:

1. Monnapule Saleng

The attacker is currently in contractual disagreement with the club, and having featured for the Buccaneers back in December 2024, the signs are that he will leave at the end of the season.

2. Innocent Maela

The Pirates skipper has struggled for game time this season despite the club being hit with injuries in defence this season.

With the likes of Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Thabiso Sesane, and Tapelo Xoki ahead of him in the pecking order, the veteran defender is expected to leave.

3. Zakhele Lepasa

Having last kicked a ball for the club in a competitive match over a year ago, the former TS Galaxy striker is expected to leave the club to get game time elsewhere.

Pirates’ arch-rivals, Kaizer Chiefs, is seen as a possible destination for the South African international.

4. Karim Kimvuidi

The attacking middlefielder has struggled to break through into the club’s first-team ever since joining the club back 2023 from the then Maritzburg United.

His struggles are likely to see him go out on loan next season.

5. Gilberto

The Angolan International is currently out on loan at his former club Petro De Luanda after struggling to adapt to life at the club.

He is linked with a permanent move to Petro De Luanda, which Pirates is open to should the fee match their expectations.

6. Relebohile Mofokeng

The 20-year-old has been exceptional since joining the club’s first team in December 2022, and his exceptional displays have seen him linked with the biggest clubs in the world like FC Barcelona.

His performances for both his national team and club have seen him heavily linked with a possible move to Europe.
