Kaizer Chiefs is believed to be close to sealing their first signing for the season 2025-2026, as the club continues with the rebuilding phase.

The Naturena-based club is expected to have a squad overhaul at the end of the season, as the club is expected to have another below par season.
Under the Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi, Chiefs has identified top quality players they can add the club to change their fortunes, having added the likes of Gaston Sirino, Miguel Inácio, and Glody Lilepo already.

However, despite adding several players, Nabi and the club’s hierarchy are said to be close to adding one of the players they have been after for years.
The Naturena-based club is said to be close to concluding the signing of Stellenbosch FC fullback, Fawaaz Basadien, after submitting a bid in the region of R8 million.
The two clubs are believed to be in advanced talks and close to reaching an agreement for the South African international.
Meanwhile, Chiefs is set to partways with over five players at the end of the season, with the likes of Happy Mashiane, Ranga Chivaviro, Bongani Sam, and Mduduzi Mdantsane expected to leave.
