Kaizer Chiefs are told to release striker Ranga Chivaviro when his contract ends at the end of the current season.

Chivaviro has been under pressure at Naturena since joining the club back 2023 from Marumo Gallants after a brilliant 2022-2023 season in front of goals.

However, the striker has failed to replicate his goal scoring form at Chiefs, leading to him registering only eight goals in 43 matches.

With his return in front of goals, not impressive legend Daniel Matsau has urged the club to let go of the striker, if they find the right striker.

Speaking to KickOff Magezine, Matsau told the publication that despite being a good striker, Chivaviro doesn’t create enough space for his teammates to find him.

Often leading to his teammates struggling to find him and limiting his ability to score goals, as he well as finding himself in the wrong positions in the box.

Matsau also touched on how the strikers should force the defenders to make mistakes which Chivaviro doesn’t do, and as such they should let him go when they sign other strikers like they did in January with Tashreeq Matthews.

“A striker should always be the one to react to second balls,” Matsau told KickOff.

“For me, I think they should let Ranga go, because if Chiefs manage to find a new striker, especially now with Tashreeq Morriss in the mix, I don’t think Ranga will play again.

“Everytime Morris plays, there is a lot of movement upfront, and there is no way they will play Ranga while keeping a fit Morris on the bench.

“Morris does things Chivaviro can’t.”

The 32-year-old is in his final three months of his contract at the club, but the club has an option to extend his stay for a further year.
