Seven Kaizer Chiefs starlets named in South Africa national team under-17 men African Cup of Nations squad.

Yesterday, Chiefs reserve team head coach Veli Khumalo, who is also South Africa’s Under-17 head coach, announced his 30-men preliminary squad for the 2025 Under-17 AFCON Tournament that will be held in Morocco.

In his 30-men squad, Khumalo named seven players from his club Chiefs, including the club’s reserve team star striker, Neo Bohloko.
Bohloko is joined by his fellow Kaizer Chiefs starlets, Ziyanda Mchunu, Bokamoso Mokokosi, Khayalethu Mzimela, Lebogang Dhlamini, Teboho Mlangeni, and Sive Pama.
Other notable names in the squad are Emile Witbooi of Cape Town City FC and Steven Mendes of Hammarby IF.

Khumalo is expected to cut his squad to 23 in the next coming two weeks, as the tournament in Morroco kicks off on the 30th of this month and ends on the 19th of April 2025.
