Kaizer Chiefs is backed to sign Mamelodi Sundowns star ahead of the 2025-2026 season, as the club continues to rebuild its squad.

Amakhosi is expected to have a squad overhaul at the end of the season after the club’s head coach, Nasreddine Nabi, revealed that he still needs to add more quality to his team despite adding up to nine players this season.
With some of the players expected to come from their arch-rivals, Mamelodi Sundowns, Chiefs legend Tsepo Masilela has backed the club to add Neo Maema to players they will sign heading into next season.

Speaking on Soccer Beat Podcast, Masilela stated that Maema will add depth and quality that Nabi and the club require to return the glory days.
“I would say get him if he’s available, and if you want to build a championship side, meaning you want to challenge for the league, you need depth,” Masilela said.
“We have been talking about depth, and I think Maema is one of those players who can add value in your team.
“And you want players that have tasted the feeling of winning championships.
“So he is someone who can bring experience when you look at his age because he is 29, if he is available and I am Kaizer Chiefs, I would go and get him.”
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old is determined to stay at Chloorkop and fight for his place in the team despite limited game time.
Sentiments shared by his coach, Miguel Cardoso, who also sees Maema as an important player of his team.
