Kaizer Chiefs DDC starlet is set to join the club’s first team after Rushwin Dortley suffered an injury that is set to sideline him for the remainder of the season.

Recently, Chiefs was dealt a huge blow after Dortley was forced to go under the knife to tackle a knee injury that has been troubling him since the turn of the year.
The news of Dortley’s season-ending setback left Amakhosi thin in the centre back position after they sold Thatayaone Ditlhokwe to Libyan giants Al Ittihad last month.
With only Inácio Miguel, Zitha Kwinika, Edmilson Dove, and Given Msimango available to play in the position, Chiefs have decided to give young left-footed back Eden McCarthy a chance in the first team.

The youngster was promoted to the first team two seasons ago but has struggled to break through and be part of the first team on a regular basis. Hence, leading to him remaining and playing with the Dstv Diski Challenge team.
McCarthy recently featured for Bafana Bafana CHAN qualifers squad that beat Egypt 4-2 on aggregate, and will look to use that experience to prove to first-team head coach Nasreddine Nabi that he has to start above his senior teammates.
