Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker reacts to the controversial decision by referee Sikhumbuzo Gasa during Nedbank Cup quarterfinal clash against Kaizer Chiefs.

With the match tied at one-all after Andre De Jong cancelled Miguel Inácio’s first half penalty, Chiefs were awarded a controversial goal by Gasa in the 90+5th minute after a consultation with his assistance.
Mduduzi Shabalala wipped in a corner from the left flank , and Stellies keeper, Sage Stephens, failed to gather the ball clean after he was infringed by Chiefs’ middlefielder George Matlou.
The assistant on the right-flank initially chalked the goal off for infringement on Stephens before Pule Mmodi could tap in the rebound to make it 2-1 for Amakhosi.

Gasa quickly went to his assistant and discussed the incident with his fellow officials on the day before awarding the goal.
His decision left the Winelands based club players and coach livid, disappointed, and frustrated, which Barker showed after the game.
Talking to SuperSport TV, the former University of Pretoria FC head coach dragged Orlando Pirates into the controversial call, as they suffered a poor call earlier this season.
“I am not going to talk about the game,” Barker told SuperSport TV.
“Two years ago in the MTN8 quarter-final, we get a penalty in the 96th minute against Chiefs, at Danie Craven, and it gets overturned.
“We play in the(MTN8) final against Pirates. They get a free-kick five meters in advance, and it gets given. Today, the linesman puts his flag up for a foul on our goalkeeper we can clearly see it was. It gets overturned.
“So w, at can I say? Thank you.”
Chiefs went on to seal the win four minutes later after Mfundo Vilakazi’s goal in the 100th minute sealed a controversial 3-1 victory over Stellenbosch.
The victory sends Chiefs into the Semis alongside Pirates, that beat SuperSport United 5-4 on penalties after drawing 2-2 after 120 minutes.
