Wydad Athletic Club and Rulani Mokwena are said to be chasing after the signature of the Tanzanian Premier League superstar ahead of the new season.

Less than a week after signing a lucrative three-year deal at Wydad Athletic Club, Rulani Mokwena is reported to have set sight on the club’s first signing according to reports in Morocco.

According to KickOff Magezine, a Morrocan publication by the name of Anbaetv, Mokwena has given the club task to look and sign Yanga superstar, Stephanie Aziz Ki.
The 28-year-old becomes Mokwena’s first target and has had an eye on him since their 2023-2024 CAF Champions League quarterfinal clash while he was still Mamelodi Sundowns’ head coach.
Aziz Ki terrorized Sundowns’ defenders in both legs, and what somewhat unlucky not to lead his side to the semi-finals of the competition after his wonder striker was controversially ruled out by VAR in the second leg.
Wydad is reported to have submitted an official bid for the player, but may find it hard to sign him, as Yanga is unlikely to let him leave, as he has recently signed a new two-year extension, and are banned from registering players by FIFA which could also impact him staying.

Meanwhile, Mokwena is set to lead Wydad to Turkey for pre-season, alongside his new technical team members, including Sinethemba Badela.
